2019 End-of-Year Giving
As promised, Larry dyed his hair pink in honor of hitting our Goal for #GivingTuesday (the video has been removed).
As 2019 comes to a close, the Team at 350 Chicago is reflecting on its accomplishments over the past year and looking ahead to great things in store for 2020...
In 2019, the 350 Chicago team accomplished these goals among others:
Supported, promoted, and participated in the Global Youth Climate Strikes
Aided McKinley Park Front Line Communities against a polluting asphalt plant
Mobilized Chicagoans to drop off petitions at Congressional offices in support of the Green New Deal
Hosted the lecture 'Deep Decarbonation' with Professor George Crabtree
Hosted training for non-violent direct action training during the Midwest stop of the Promise to Protect Tour
Hosted monthly environmental education presentations on topics from solar energy to 350 & partner efforts
Broadened its active volunteer base
Gained non-profit status with State of Illinois
Our priorities for 2020:
The City of Chicago Fossil Fuel Divestment Campaign
Advocacy for renewable energy infrastructure and jobs
Support for front line communities fighting polluting industries
Further education and mobilization of Chicagoans for fighting the climate crisis
Further increase its active volunteer base
Completion of the 501(C)(3) application process
And more plans to come
We hope you will consider giving generously to help us continue to combat the climate crisis in 2020. Your donation is tax-deductible.
End-of-year donations are being accepted now and will continue through December 31st, 2019.
Many thanks!
The Team at 350 Chicago
