The new year is just around the corner, and we’re gearing up for a great 2026. Local climate action continues to be more important than ever, and we’re ready to keep fighting alongside you. Some of what we’re excited about for next year includes:
Building on our success in getting Chicago to divest from fossil fuels by educating the public and electeds in Illinois about the need for the state to divest
Growing broader statewide support for fossil fuel divestment, by expanding our Climate Safe Pensions Illinois coalition, with a goal of 100 members by May of 2026
Advancing reform of Investor Owned Utilities to stop the utilities from charging ratepayers for their lobbying expenses via our utility transparency campaign
Advocating for clean energy policy in Illinois through our work with the Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition
Continuing to increase climate education through our ongoing climate speaker series (14 episodes now available on our YouTube Channel)
