As we celebrate this month dedicated to environmental action, we’re not going to sugarcoat what’s happening – climate policy is under attack! But 350 Chicago is still in the fight right here in Illinois, and we need your support to advance climate action across our state. Can you make a gift today?
This Earth Month, we’re raising money to fund these initiatives:
Divesting state pensions from dirty, volatile fossil fuel assets. We formed the Climate Safe Pensions Illinois Coalition with Third Act Illinois and Climate Reality Project Chicago to advance fossil fuel divestment at the state level. We have built the coalition to 41 partner groups across Illinois; our goal is reaching 100 member organizations to build the power needed to get the state to divest.
Fighting for utility affordability in Illinois In partnership with the Citizens Utility Board, we’re working to advance policy that protects utility bill payers. Our aim is to stop Investor Owned Utilities from charging consumers $40 Million/year for lobbying expenses that are anti-climate and raise utility bills,
Advancing clean energy in Illinois. We’re working with the Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition to develop clean, affordable energy, making buildings healthier to live in while diminishing the need for fossil fuels.
