Sun Day Solar Fest

Third Act Illinois and 350 Chicago hosted the Sun Day Solar Fest on Chicago's beautiful Lake Michigan shore — a joyful celebration of the power of the sun.

Over 30 groups — from solar installers and nonprofits to justice organizations and houses of worship — joined the festivities to recognize the advances in solar energy, shared fun activities and easy ways to go solar, including community solar that can save 15–20% on your electric bill.

The day was packed with family-friendly fun as we cheered the miracle of solar — part of the global clean energy wave, where 95% of new power last year came from solar, wind, and batteries!

Festival highlights:

  • Expert advice on all things solar

  • Live music featuring Chicago Blues, folk, and jazz

  • Hands-on science activities for all ages

  • Parade with flash mob dancers & giant puppets

  • Games under a giant sun parachute

  • Plant & seed giveaways (nature’s solar panels!)

And more!

We collected more signatures!

Beautiful day for a parade!
